Like a drug.

It all started with a dream.
Since that dream, I've been on a high for about a week now, and I've behaved in the most ridiculous manner in front of my closest friends (please don't let it out guys!), had them laugh at me for being the joker I haven't been in the longest time ever.

But I know all about withdrawal symptoms and I know I'll probably be going through it soon, like now. I don't want!

Week 3 Presentation

I'm kinda worried, that my ang moh tutor thinks our presentation is not controversial enough. And I'm kinda worried too, that everyone walks away from the class feeling bitter because of all the controversial issues raised. And I finally realized what stress from people around me will do to me, it makes me talk really fast. When it came to my part from the rehearsal yesterday, my group mates were like "woah, slow down". I didn't even realize how quickly I was going through things at. Don't remember when I became such a worry-wart but I'm not enjoying a moment of it.

Windsurf recruitment's finally been settled, meetings have been held every week for the past 3 weeks and will continue to be held for the upcoming few. Booze, snacks and... making fun of each other has been fun. But responsibility, big responsibility? I'm finally feeling it. And at times like this, I feel really relieved that I'm doing something that I enjoy doing. I love windsurfing and all my windsurf friends!

The past 3 weeks have been great; great room, great roomie, great hall-friends and tutorials are getting done. I'm totally loving school, and I wish time will pass slower, just a little slower sometimes.

Speed Demon.... NOT.

Just got back from WJ's not-too-surprising surprise celebration at Sheare's Hall not too long ago, and it was great fun. A few more to go, and all of us will be 21... how time flies, to think we were only 13 when we first met.

The roads were pretty empty as I made our ways back to NTU; empty enough for some speed but I didn't want to step any harder on the accelerator pedal once we hit 110 klicks/hr. For some strange reason, 90 klicks/hr seems to be much faster in the night as compared to the day, at least to me. Call me a wuss or whatever you deem fit, but, I just don't feel safe driving anything more than 110klicks/hr; no prizes for guessing who'll probably be getting honked at a great deal if she goes up the Malaysia highways hur.

Anyway, it seems to me like everything's happening altogether all of a sudden and unsurprisingly, I feel so overwhelmed and swarmed with events ongoing, and events that are going to happen. Whoaaaaa! Let's pick things up slowly, and have a blast doing it guys!

Oh, and I had the sweetest dream last night. It was so sweet that I woke up smiling to myself, diabetic, I tell you. I don't want to jinx anything, so please, nothing funny from you girls okay :p

A bunch of whiners.

I hate to say this but I think majority of us are just that.

I've observed that we can be complaining about anything and everything you can think of; oh, the weather's too hot, my boyfriend or girlfriend's not sweet enough, all my lectures are so boring, my timetable sucks, the canteen food sucks, why am I so fat (guilty as hell), why are the lecture theatres so far away, why doesn't anyone understand me and so on and so forth.

There seems to be no end to all that you can nitpick on in life, our own lives specifically. I want to believe that it's something that we've all come to do naturally in a subconcious manner (as a matter of influence from the people around you) rather than something that we're doing because we actually enjoy doing that; having nothing good to say about everything that's happening.

When we do whine a lot, I realized that's when we're just being really self-centred. We expect the world to revolve around us, people to understand what we're complaining about (same thing over again), things to happen according to our standards and when things don't go our way, what happens? We start doing the whole damned thing all over again.

When we do whine a lot, I also realized (only lately) that it's a form of releaasing the little pent-up frustration we have in us and it actually feels good. But what I don't think we realize is that, sometimes, it's kind of annoying for the people who listen to us yabber on and on. I mean, come to think of it, you had a long and tiring day, having someone to grouse about their day too can only makes you feel more miserable than you already are, no?

So... instead of focusing on things that aren't really to our liking since you'll only find more of them in time to come, why don't we start focusing and acknowledging the good stuff too? As for the things that you don't really like, well, do something about it instead of complaining all the time! I honestly think our lives will be much happier this way, and the world will be a nicer place to wake up to if we just give that a try.

But if you choose to insist that your life will still be sad/miserable/sucky/emo/shitty even after you've done something about it (when you really haven't), then too bad for you, I guess you're probably better off living your sad/miserable/sucky/emo/shitty life.

It was during one of those conversations where we were disagreeing again with each other's views that I got a clearer understanding of ...
