Some ugly pictures to fill up the space

We had some fun with photobooth one listless night in Rajasthan, India, and took some awful-looking pictures of ourselves in the hostel.

Proof of our my boliao-ness:

Badly-beaten-up VS vertically-stretched.

Maybe I should consider applying the mask over my brows in future too.

How come Siaos look like some cute cartoon character and me, an ugly luohan fish with a serious case of hives?
PHOTOBOOTH, Y U NO LIKE ME?

too ugly for words

How Rob will look if his face is symmetrical; i.e. weird.
Asymmetry still rules.

He's supposed to resemble a cartoon character but I can't remember who now.

Look like a not? Got a bit right.

Okay, enough ugly pictures for now.

Here's a slightly more normal-looking one:

Taken on the second last night in Delhi, while the two little pigs were sleeping beside me on our *cough* threesome *cough* bed.

Yes I know it's been a totally pointless entry.

Anyhow, I think Photobooth has brought out the narcissus in me!

Pink Phuket Party (or, Phuket Puke Party ahem)

The last time I travelled to Bali with Jenny (and Bun), we decided to call it our Big Bali Break. So, the alliteration in the title this time round is by no means an accident. Settled on "Pink" because we couldn't think of any other appropriate adjective starting with the letter "P" initially and pink's such a happy colour, at least to us.

Anyway, both of us puked some point in time during our short stay in Phuket so, yeah, that was how the other title came about.

our room at Patpong; pretty decent room for around 35sgd/night.

Jenny and I did Phuket late last August during the semestral break; Bun was supposed to join us for the same trip but due to a lack of funds, she decided against it. Being the very mean friends that we are, we've been teasing her for decision to pangseh us ever since.

August is considered the low season (due to the monsoon), so we managed to get an okay-priced room in a rather decent location. It was a mere 15-minute walk to Soi Bangla, Jungceylon, etc so we were not too far away from the crowd.

We spent most of our time not doing anything, though we did join an island-hopping tour for a day. Some pictures from the tour:

Puked my guts out halfway into the journey to the islands; the boat ride was extremely bumpy because of the choppy monsoon waves, and the stench of other tourists' puke just made me unable to control my own stomach muscles. But all was good once we hit land; sweet, sweet relief.

We did some snorkeling...

Visibility was okay, we spotted the usual fishes.

and a swimming mushroom :p

who doesn't seem to be using the snorkeling mask correctly.

happy teeny.

:)

Went drinking the same night and Jenny didn't feel too well after some drinks. Outside the bar, some policemen saw us crouched by the side of the road and gave us a bottle of mineral water when they realized one of us had been puking. How nice is that! We managed to walk back to the hotel unscathed despite feeling slightly intoxicated. Watched some Thai music videos on telly later that night and I tried to mimic some of their cutesy moves, much to Jenny's amusement.

Breakfast on our last day in Phuket:

Stopped by for a round of traditional Thai massage before we headed back home. Chatted for a fair bit with our masseurs; they taught us to count to ten in Thai - I have to admit that I've forgotten most of it now, and told us what are some of the highest-earning professions in Thailand etc.

It was a good R&R trip, and I'm really glad to have Jenny's company. Don't think I'll be heading to Phuket again anytime soon though; it really doesn't seem to have too much in store for me, at least for now.

Home, sweet home.

Both Dad and Mumsy were at the airport to pick me up; I was so damned happy to see both of them that I couldn't contain my happiness and let out squeals of excitement (yes, like a pig), grinned stupidly and gave both of them a big, fat hug each. The first thing that Dad asked me after all that initial excitement died down was, "How many tattoos did you get in Hong Kong huh?"

Really, Dad?! :P

The weather's predictably hot, but so far, I'm re-adapting to it pretty well.

Noticed quite a number of subtle changes here and there; around the house, on the roads, and the buildings, but I'm glad that everything still feels familiar, just like before.

I'm just really happy to be back.

ps. not too happy when I think about the unpacking; I wish my wardrobe's slightly bigger than the one I have now.

It was during one of those conversations where we were disagreeing again with each other's views that I got a clearer understanding of ...
